With many people out of work and struggling to make ends meet, the Brightspot team came together to do what we do best–getting off the sidelines to help those who need it most.
A Brightspot Food Drive
With food banks and pantries facing high demand, Brightspot employees organized a food drive to benefit several organizations serving Northern Virginia.
On Friday. April 24, team captains in each county set out to safely collect food from their fellow employees for donation. In the end hundreds of pounds of food and other supplies were donated to Loudoun Hunger Relief, Cornerstones Food Pantry, and Arlington Food Assistance Center, to help them provide for the most vulnerable in our communities.
Apple Spice & Everything Nice
To support local medical professionals aiding in the fight against COVID-19, Apple Spice, a box lunch delivery and catering company, put out a request for individual and corporate sponsorships in the Northern Virginia Area. Apple Spice aims to raise $5,000 per week to cover the cost of providing 300 packaged and sealed hot meals for those on the front lines at nine area hospitals and health centers, including Inova Loudoun, Inova Fairfax and Reston Hospital.
It is times like this that show how much we can make a difference in a stranger’s life.
Brightspot accepted the challenge and purchased 500 meals for these essential personnel. To date, Brightspot is the largest contributor to this initiative.

The generosity of the Brightspot family doesn't stop there. Beyond these efforts, members of our team have also donated individually to local organizations such as 29 Diner's Community First Initiative, Columbia Pike's Buy a Nurse/Neighbor Lunch, and Food & Friends, as well as nationwide efforts such as the Frontline Responders Fund and Feeding America,
