Brightspot GO Data FAQ

Does Brightspot own or distribute the data I publish?

Any content you publish on the Brightspot GO platform is yours. Brightspot doesn’t aggregate, re-sell, or claim any rights to the content on our platform, See Brightspot GO terms and conditions for more details.

How is Brightspot GO Hosted?

Brightspot GO is what’s called a “multi-tenant infrastructure” that Brightspot operates on a top-tier Public Cloud platform like Amazon Web Services. Your GO instance is safely separated from others’ GO sites, so nobody can see your instance of Brightspot except the users you allow.

Is my data safe?

Brightspot GO encrypts your data “in motion” (meaning when you’re uploading it, downloading it, or typing it into the CMS) and at rest (when it’s on our servers) using industry-standard encryption technologies. We back up your data hourly to a separate and secure backup cloud in case there’s a critical system failure. Our backups can’t be used to recover data that you’ve accidentally deleted, unfortunately - they’re for system recovery.

What can I do to make Brightspot GO even more secure and reliable?

Brightspot offers detailed User and Role permissions to help you ensure that even your authorized users only have the access they need. Make sure you take advantage of Brightspot’s security and password capabilities and never share your password. Be very careful in what you choose to permanently delete.

If I accidentally delete my data, can it be restored?

If you accidentally deleted a specific content entry (say, a page or an article) from Brightspot GO, we do not offer the ability to restore it. We strongly advise that you archive content first, and only delete content after you are absolutely certain it is no longer needed.
