Setting the site layout


\With this procedure, you determine the layout of the pages in your site.

To set the page layout for a site:

  1. Click menu > Admin > Sites & Settings.
  2. In the Sites widget, click the site for which you want to define the site layout. (If you click Global, you define the site layout at the highest level in the Content template hierarchy, and the layout appears in all your published items.)
  3. From the Front-End tab, expand the Layout cluster.
  4. Do any of the following:
    1. Under Language Menu, select an existing language menu or create a new one.

      For details on configuring language menus, see Adding language menus.

    2. In Hat, do one of the following:
      • Click Inherit to use the hat set in the Global site.
      • Click Select to select the hat for your site.
      • Click None if you do not want a logo to display.

    3. In Navigation, do one of the following:
      • Click Inherit to use the navigation set in the Global site.
      • Click Select to specify the navigation for this site.
      • Click None if you do not want any navigation to display.

    4. In Banner, do one of the following:
      • Click Inherit to use the banner set in the Global site.
      • Click Add After to display the banner after any other inherited banner in the layout block.
      • Click Add Before to display the banner before any other inherited banner in the layout block.
      • Click None if you do not want a banner to display.
      • Click Replace if you want to replace an existing banner.

    5. In Footer, do one of the following:
      • Click Inherit to use the footer set in the Global site.
      • Click Select to specify the footer for this site.
      • Click None if you do not want a footer to display.

  5. In Above, do one of the following
    1. Click Inherit any modules placed into the Above layout block in the Global site.
    2. Click Add After to display any modules after any other inherited modules placed into the Above layout block.
    3. Click Add Before to display any modules before any other inherited modules placed in the Above layout block.
    4. Click None if you do not want any modules to display in the Above layout block.
    5. Click Replace if you want to replace existing modules placed into the Above layout block.

  6. In Aside, do one of the following
    1. Click Inherit any modules placed into the Aside layout block in the Global site.
    2. Click Add After to display any modules after any other inherited modules placed into the Aside layout block.
    3. Click Add Before to display any modules before any other inherited modules placed in the Aside layout block.
    4. Click None if you do not want any modules to display in the Aside layout block.
    5. Click Replace if you want to replace existing modules placed into the Aside layout block.

  7. In Below, do one of the following
    1. Click Inherit any modules placed into the Below layout block in the Global site.
    2. Click Add After to display any modules after any other inherited modules placed into the Below layout block.
    3. Click Add Before to display any modules before any other inherited modules placed in the Below layout block.
    4. Click None if you do not want any modules to display in the Below layout block.
    5. Click Replace if you want to replace existing modules placed into the Below layout block.

  8. In Search Page, specify a site search page.
