Working with tables


Tables provide easy-to-visualize layout of related text and media. The following sections describe how to work with tables in the rich-text editor.

Adding a table

To add a table:
  1. Position the cursor where you want the table to appear.
  2. Click border_all, and draw a table on the model.

Adding a row

To add a row to a table:
  1. Place the cursor inside the table where you want to add a row.
  2. Click more_horiz, and select Add Row Above or Add Row Below.

Deleting a row

To delete a row from a table:
  1. Place the cursor inside the row you want to delete.
  2. Click more_horiz, and select Delete Row.

Adding a column

To add a column to a table:
  1. Place the cursor inside the table where you want to add a row.
  2. Click more_horiz, and select Add Column Left or Add Column Right.

Deleting a column

To delete a column from a table:
  1. Place the cursor inside the column you want to delete.
  2. Click more_horiz, and select Delete Column.

Merging cells

To merge table cells:
  1. Click and drag to select the cells you want to merge.
  2. Click more_horiz, and select Merge Cells.

Splitting cells

To split table cells:
  1. Click in the cell you want to split. (The cell must be one that you previously merged.)
  2. Click more_horiz, and select Split Cell.
