Configuring an external RSS feed's cache settings


When setting up an external RSS feed, you can configure the feed's cache settings.

To configure an external RSS feed's cache settings:

  1. Create a new external RSS feed as described in External RSS Feed.
  2. In the Advanced tab, under Cache Settings, select Set.
  3. Using the following table as a reference, complete the fields as needed.
  4. Complete your site's workflow and publish the asset.
Field Description
Disable Caching Toggle on to disable caching.
Force Caching Toggle on to force caching (for example, change the response headers to match this configuration).
Maximum Cache Size Enter the maximum size of the cache (in megabytes).
Cache Duration Enter the duration that content should be cached (in seconds).
Always Revalidate Toggle on to prevent servers from storing a copy of the requested content.
Prevent Content Transformation Toggle on to prevent servers from modifying the content of the data they are caching.
Do Not Refresh Cache Toggle on to prevent a server from refreshing the cache upon a request; instead, the server will only respond if the content is already cached.
Tolerated Duration After Expiration Enter, in seconds, how long the cache duration can be expired before refreshing content.
Required Duration Before Expiration Enter, in seconds, how long before its expiration the cache should refresh.
