Brightspot Content Types Guide

Syndicated Page

The Syndicated Page content type is used to facilitate syndicated headers and footers. This allows for a Brightspot editor to create a “Syndicated Header” and “Syndicated Footer” object in Brightspot that can be used to provide header and footer styling and navigation to third-partypages.

Syndicated Pages use Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) to enable a browser loading resources from domains in addition to the Brightspot server. See Cross-Origin Resource Sharing for more information.

To create a Syndicated Page:

  1. In the header, click add.
  2. From the Create list, select Syndicated Page.
  3. Using the following tables as a reference, complete the fields as needed.
  4. Complete your site's workflow and publish the asset.

FieldDescription

  • None—No CORS configuration is added to the syndicated page.
  • Set—Additional fields (below) are displayed to allow for CORS configuration for the syndicated page.
FieldDescription
Allowed OriginsThis field configures the third-party origins that is allowed to pull assets from.

The URL scheme and port are not necessary when adding your allowed origins. However, if the scheme is important, you must include it to ensure only that scheme and its default port are allowed. If port is important, then the scheme and port must be specified.

For example:
  • brightspot.com—Any protocol and port within that domain.
  • https://brightspot.com—Must be an exact protocol match and only uses the default port of 443.
  • https://brightspot.com:8443—Must be an exact protocol match and only uses the specified port, in this case, 8443.
See Access-Control-Allow-Origin header for more information.

To complete this field:
  1. Enter the origins that can make CORS requests.
  2. After you enter an origin, you must click add to add it to the Allowed Origins setting field.
You can add multiple origins if needed.
Allowed HeadersTo complete this field:
  1. Enter the names of the HTTP headers that can be used during the HTTP request.
  2. Click add after you enter each header to save it to the Allowed Headers field.
