Brightspot Integrations Guide

Configuring the Facebook integration

In order for Brightspot to automatically embed a Facebook or Instagram link in the rich-text editor, you must first configure the Facebook integration.

To configure the Facebook integration:

  1. In your Meta console, copy your app access token and app ID. For details, see Access Tokens for Meta Technologies and Find your user ID for your apps and games on Facebook.
  2. Click menu > Admin > Sites & Settings > Sites > Global.
  3. Under Integrations, expand Facebook.
  4. In the Facebook App Access Token field, enter your Facebook app ID and access token. You must format this value as AppID|Access Token. This field is only necessary to enable Instagram embeds.
  5. In the App ID field, enter your Facebook app ID. This field is only necessary for Facebook oembeds, head scripts, and share actions.
  6. Click Save.
  7. In the Sites list, select the site into which you want to embed Facebook links.
  8. Under Integrations, expand Facebook.
  9. In the App ID field, enter your Facebook app ID.
  10. Click Save.

Once complete, Brightspot renders any Facebook or Instagram links pasted into the rich-text editor as embeds.
